Mechanical Thermal Imaging
Mechanical Thermal Imaging (Infra-Red Thermography) is a superior method of fault finding. Some of its major benefits are identifying worn and failing parts, which can provide awareness of defects before full mechanical failures occur.
Inspecting mechanical equipment with Perth Thermal Imaging will cover a wide variety of systems, Including Rotating equipment such as:
- Pinpoint Hot Spots in Mechanical Systems
- Motor Windings, Bearings, Couplings and Gear Boxes
- Belt Drives and Power Chain Drives
- Motors, Pumps, Clutches
- Boiler Operations and Steam Systems
- Tank levels, Steam traps, Refractory,
- Conveyors, Compressors
It is easy for our Thermal Imaging (thermography) cameras to find, worn or failing parts within mechanical equipment. Over time these parts will continue to deteriorate, which will increase the amount of friction, and in turn, emit heat detectable by our thermal imaging camera. Our thermographer will use this detected heat to report to you on possible problems, allowing maintenance to be schedule for repair. This will stop costly unscheduled shut downs.
Perth Thermal Imaging surveys involve taking thermal images of your mechanical equipment while in use. As with all types of thermal imaging, the equipment must be in use to ensure the most accurate results are provided for you. This also allows your business to conduct work while the inspection is taking place.
Infrared Thermography is a non-contact, low risk survey. In simple terms it is a highly effective visual inspection using infrared technology, which is completed with minimal risk and personnel exposure to dangerous mechanical equipment.
All mechanical equipment has an allowable operating temperature limit. Infrared thermography allows for the remote monitoring of temperature patterns while the equipment is in use and operational. One of the major issues in mechanical equipment is excessive heat.
